ABOUT THE EVENT

This week's class with Kerri is on the connection between the nervous system and pelvic health with a focus on cultivating awareness of the relationship between the breath and the pelvis. In general, we want our physical body and our nervous system to embody a healthy balance of strength and fluidity without being too constricted or overly relaxed. In other words we want to be well toned to support optimal function. Our practice will be based in breath and movement for the hips and pelvis that offers a gentle approach to releasing tension and building strength.

In the yoga tradition the pelvis is home to two chakra energy centers of the subtle body that correspond to the earth and water elements. With this in mind, we'll explore how to support our ability to return to a place of groundedness and stability as well as resilience and fluidity in daily life. It takes practice!

This class is appropriate for anyone with a pelvis and is especially helpful if you are dealing with the physical and emotional impact of pelvic health issues such as incontinence, prolapse or pelvic pain.

NOURISH YOUR NERVOUS SYSTEM CLASSES:

Gather with Kerri in a supportive community to nourish your nervous system through mindful somatic explorations of movement and breath. Each class explores a healing theme to retune the long-term effects of stress and trauma and cultivate a kinder, more compassionate relationship with our Self.

These classes are a blend of education and practice to learn how your nervous system functions, especially in response to stress and trauma. We explore simple concepts of neuroscience and physiology integrated with somatic movement and breath practices to support healing and integration of the mind, body and spirit.

These classes are especially helpful if you struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic pain and other states of chronic dysregulation. Connect in a community of like minds on a healing path and learn practices to integrate into your daily life. Options are always offered to provide choice in honoring your needs for more rest or more intensity.

The gifts of regular practice are many! We get better at listening to our body and responding to our own needs, develop self-trust & compassion, find the courage to try new things, feel empowered to make hard choices, understand and heal from cultural and family conditioning... these are just a few. With repetition and support we can retune the nervous system to become more resilient and capable of dealing with the challenges of life. Trauma informed, suitable for all levels.
