ABOUT THE EVENT

This week we will explore the breath and it's relationship to our nervous system through traditional yoga pranayama practices, gentle movement and some restorative yoga poses. Pranayama is one of the foundational 8 limbs of yoga. Prana is the primary energy of life. Pranayama practices help balance our prana through the management and control of the breath.

************************

These classes are a blend of education and practice to learn how your nervous system functions, especially in response to stress and trauma. We explore simple concepts of neuroscience and physiology integrated with somatic movement and breath practices to support healing and integration of the mind, body and spirit.

These classes are especially helpful if you struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic pain and other states of chronic dysregulation. Connect in a community of like minds on a healing path and learn practices to integrate into your daily life. Options are always offered to provide choice in honoring your needs for more rest or more intensity.

The gifts of regular practice are many! We get better at listening to our body and responding to our own needs, develop self-trust & compassion, find the courage to try new things, feel empowered to make hard choices, understand and heal from cultural and family conditioning... these are just a few. With repetition and support we can retune the nervous system to become more resilient and capable of dealing with the challenges of life. Trauma informed, suitable for all levels.

Led by Kerri Zelman. Sign up using your class pass or purchase a drop in.
